Active Optical Cable (AOC)

Active Optical Cable (short for AOC) is used for brief-range multi-lane data communication and interconnect programs. AOC combines multimode optical fiber, fiber optic transceivers, control chip and modules. It uses electrical-to-optical conversion on the cable ends to improve speed and distance performance of the cable without compromising compatibility with standard electrical connects.

In comparison with common cable for data transmission, Active Optical Cable provides more advantages, for example lighter in weight, high end, low energy consumption, low interconnection loss, EMI immunity and flexibility.

KINSOM offer AOC products like 10G SFP AOCs, 40G QSFP AOCs, QSFP to 4 SFP AOCs, QSFP to eight x LC AOCs, AOC USB3.0 etc. Additionally, custom cables are available in various lengths, Cisco, HP compatible and other options.
